Achison successfully addressed the occupational safety challenges faced by U**, a city's drainage utility company that constantly deals with the potential dangers of maintaining and cleaning its underground sewer system.
Challenges:
The working environment inside the sewers is incredibly challenging, with limited space, the risk of gas poisoning, oxygen deficiency, and other accidents always present. U** needed an optimal solution to ensure the safety of its workers during operations.
Solution:
After thorough research and analysis, we proposed and implemented a comprehensive solution that combines the Xam 2500 smart sensor device and an optimized safety procedure:
Xam 2500 multi-parameter sensor device:
- Measures the concentration of various toxic gases (H2S, CH4, CO2), temperature, humidity, and oxygen levels.
- Provides audible and LED light alerts when hazards are detected.
- IP68 waterproof and impact-resistant design ensures durable operation in harsh environments.
- Wireless connection for real-time data transmission to an external monitoring device, enabling managers to quickly grasp the situation.
New safety procedure:
- Step 1: Before entering the sewer, workers use the Xam 2500 to check the environment. If the indicators are safe, the system will display a green light.
- Step 2: During work, the device continuously monitors and alerts if there are dangerous changes.
- Step 3: The data is stored and analyzed to improve future safety procedures.
Training and guidance:
- We organized training sessions for workers and managers on how to use the Xam 2500 device and comply with the new procedure.
- Detailed instruction manuals and 24/7 technical support are provided to ensure everyone understands and follows the procedure correctly.
